World Wrestling Entertainment's almost complete dominance of the professional wrestling .
industry should not continue because it doesn't give other professional wrestling organizations .
and wrestlers a chance to show themselves and become famous in mainstream society, and it has .
gotten to the point where the WWE has become an unfair monopoly encompassing nearly .
everything that is professional wrestling.
There are many die-hard WWE fans that say that WWE isn't a monopoly and base this .
statement on the fact that there are still other wrestling organizations existing that are shown on .
TV. It's true that there are other organizations out there, like Xtreme Pro Wrestling (XPW) and .
the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), but these organizations are in every way practically .
microscopic compared to the WWE. Their shows have thousands fewer people in their .
audiences than WWE coliseum events and take place in much smaller arenas, such as high .
school gyms and auditoriums. Also, advertising for these other organizations is limited mainly to .
flyers, rare pay-per-view commercials, and coverage in wrestling magazines and on internet sites, .
while their product lines, if they have any, are usually limited to videos. On the other hand, the .
WWE has endorsement deals, it's own in-depth web site and coverage on many more sites, .
commercials running daily on at least two channels as well as daily pay-per-view commercials. .
Besides this, the WWE has a huge product line that includes action figures, videos, calenders and .
posters, video games, books, CDs, clothing, and way more other things than I can possibly .
mention, all of which also function as advertising tools for the company. .
.
P.2.
As for the television air play of other wrestling organizations, comparing their TV air play .
to the WWE's would be like comparing an lion to an ant. The WWE is shown worldwide and in .
this country is shown during prime time on 2 channels, Spike TV and UPN, three days a week.
