The Show That Changed a Generation

The cause of popularity of the show "Seinfeld" is due to it's real life settings and plots that the show gives in each episode. It's funny no matter how many times you watch it, you still laugh at the crazy antics of each characters. The writing was so true to the real conversations we all have, it just seemed fresh. That's why I still laugh out loud when Jerry and George are accused of being gay and they say "I"m not gay!, not that there's anything wrong with it!". The characters conversations at Monk's Diner are conversations I have with my friends.
It's not just the verbal comedy. It's the physical comedy too. Remember Elaine's weird thumbs up dance? George running out of the bathroom yelling "Say Vandelay Industries, say Vandelay Industries!" Elaine pushing people and saying "Get out!" when she can't believe something they've said, and when Kramer slides into Jerry's apartment. That became his trademark in the show and everyone knew him for that. You just can't fake good comedy. Jerry let the other cast members have most of the laughs. Of course, Jerry was funny, but he was nice and smart enough to let the best laughs go to the other cast members of the show; George, Elaine, Kramer, Newman and others. .
It's wasn't just a TV show, it had such an effect on the audience that it was a part of the 1990's culture and even a generation. Who hasn't used the term "yada, yada, yada" since the show made it popular and funny? And the phrases "no soup for you!". "Seinfeld" made the people who watched feel cool that you knew the lingo, and it wasn't just once in a while, but almost every week.
Another thing I like about the show was that they used real products. Most TV shows use tape to cover up the name on the Coke can or change the name of a product so they can legally use it. "Seinfeld" was realistic and used real products: "Kenny Rogers Chicken", "Rold Gold Pretzels", "Snapple", "Junior Mints", "Yoo Hoo", and of course the cereal "Cheerios".
