Advertising - Songs and Jingles


With the limited amount of research on the topic it is easy to reiterate the important information that the studies have gathered as time has gone on. A strong correlation has been observed between children and television advertisements, which are full of fascination and excitement (Priya, et al, 2010). The hypothesis for this paper is that the jingles in advertisements have a positive impact on the decision of the child consumer to purchase the product. The primary objectives of this study are to see how jingles affect the emotional responses of children when an advertisement plays on the television. The hypothesis and research design relate to each other because the hypothesis is interested in and figuring out how these emotional responses affect the purchases and the research show the results to those emotional responses.
             Method.
             The methods used in this secondary research paper were all based on prior findings from scholarly journals. This process started off with figuring out the problem statement for the paper which had to be related to advertising and public relations. Then I worked on the key words that would be beneficial in searching for information on the topic. Once those two things were established researching the topic was able to start. This lead to going on the databases provided by Grand Valley State University and looking up articles that were relevant to the topic that I wished to discuss. .
             Researching a topic can be a time consuming process because certain key words may bring up articles that have nothing to do with the main focus of your problem statement. The best way to decide on whether or not the article would be relevant or not to the topic is by reading the abstract, which provides the basic information for what is going to be included inside the journal article. Once the articles were chosen, I then had to go through each one and figure out the relevant information to the topic at hand.
