I am writing you to submit my completed version of Assignment #2, "Vision of Revision." Upon reviewing my most recent work, I've become aware of several areas which I believe I should improve. .
From content. to writing style, to mechanics, one can observe several areas that can be strengthened with practice. In order to improve the aforementioned weaknesses in my writing style I must be able to be more considerate to the importance of proofreading and revision. Throughout my academic career I have acquired a bad habit of completing an assignment and submitting it without taking ample time to review it for quality. In order for one to improve their written work, regardless of their profession, they must review their work to find their own areas of strength and weakness. .
In mastering this habit of proofreading I feel my work will improve drastically.
Secondly, I must focus on simplifying my work in times of doubt. Regardless of topic, I consistently find myself attempting to use large words or unique transitions. In doing so, I am only hurting myself as the structure and flow tends to not make much sense. For example, in paragraph two line five I refer to, "a capitalist society where it seems a vast amount of people can purchase tangible/intangible replacements for anything." "(Goossens, 2013). Upon reviewing this sentence, I can clearly see throughout that I must simplify my works to prevent fragmentation and poor structural content. .
Lastly, I must persevere throughout my whole essay to finish as strong as I started. Concluding paragraphs are as strong as a speaker's closing remarks. A writer must do the same with his channel of communication. Instead of simply stating my three main points, I need to summarize and provide a conclusion for my points. In doing so, the essay will flow cohesively and offer a much stronger ending than a dull "statement-like conclusion." I wish to thank you for reviewing my assignment.
