Fear suddenly occupied my whole mind and sparked up several realizations. I wished I had had the courage to achieve my dream, which I felt a wistful longing for. While fighting my way back to life, I gradually lost my consciousness. Suddenly, a person lifted me out of the water, saved me from drowning. When I woke up in the hospital, there was only my family sitting next to my bed but my savior had gone. .
The accident has rewritten my whole unbreakably monotonous cycle. Being the only boy in an Asian family, I used to be filled with high expectation. From a young age, I had to make a great effort to distinguish myself from classmates in order to be an eminent student whom my parents would be proud of. My parents drew a typical picture of the future for me, with a stable occupation being heavily focused on. Swirled by schoolwork and obsessed with grades, I left my dream of being a cliche and steering on studying to make my parents happy. However, an honest talk with my parents explained how I truly craved to drive my future independently. .
Since then, I brook free. I wanted to listen to my heart, which had already known the way. Devoting to various extracurricular activities enlightened me in many perspectives. While painting, sculpture, acting gave me an opportunity to show my creativity, meticulousness and elaboration, photography was the perfect mixture, which I could display my unexplored aspect - passion. I felt in love with photography.
Even though I was on top of the world with a new perception of life, I had never stopped searching for my savior. Fortunately, I found Hai after many days seeking for him. As I discovered, Hai's wife had left him and the children, one of them with brain disease. Tears filled my eyes. I suggested taking a picture of Hai. I set the parameters, focused and framed in less than three seconds. The shoot was the perfect combination of light, composition and emotion.
