Why I am a Hindu

.
Worship for me is very sacred and is part of our everyday routine. Home is where we set up an altar of our own that we can go worship our Gods and Goddesses, meditate, sing hymns, or reflect on text such as the Bhagavad Gita, this can be called puja. Puja is part of who we are, by partaking in puja we may offer up several things to our home alter such as flowers, incense, or food. It is a devotional ritual that means a lot in being the people we are and want to become. Along with Brahman we worship many deities that help us in different aspects of our lives. For example I may focus my worship on Durga, the goddess that destroys evil, if I am trying to overcome an optical in my life. There are temples where we go to worship as well. Worship is similar here to how we do it at home just on a grander scale. Deities stand very tall and offerings are more widespread as people from the whole community comes to sacrifice and be one with the gods. .
The most meaningful part is being able to continue my spiritual life in these sacred practices. It is nice to know that being Hindu has been a part of my culture since it first began. That I carry the same traditions and views of my parents and my grandparents and my great grandparents. We are rooted deep in Indian culture. We are called to ignite in the insight and understanding of life itself. Ever evolving in the coexisting world we live in,in where we are all connected by a higher purpose for an everlasting life in the forms of many different beings. .

I feel that I know what I'm doing is right because Brahman lives in each and every one of us. When you are worshiping the divine and you are the divine there is a connection there that can't be broken. Weather you choose to seek the path to true peace and a prosperous life to come is up to you, but to know that whatever path you may take you are still divine in spirit means that as long as you are living you can channel that inner good.
