Do you remember your childhood? Growing up was exciting and fun. We had the terrible two's, starting school, going through puberty, etc. Life was a test and we learned from our mistakes. "Keep your hands off the stove! " If you didn't listen, you would get burned and definitely not try that again. Back in the day, kids were more conscious about what they did in fear that the neighbors or their teachers would call their parents and they would get in trouble. Times have definitely changed since I was growing up. The saying "it takes a village to raise a child " was the gospel. If your neighbors saw you doing wrong, then they would get you. Then when your parents came home and your neighbor told them, you would get it again.

Nowadays, neighbors are afraid to get involved. Adults are scared of the children. Parenting has changed. Parents are not punishing their children. Some parents are even scared of their own children. Neighbors are minding their own business. Teachers are no longer going that extra mile and getting involved. All this leads to the society that we are living in now. Our children are committing adult crimes. Our children are letting the streets raise them. Our children are dying or else going to jail. Our babies are serving life sentences!!.
The prison system was designed to rehabilitate and teach a lesson. Prison should not be the final destination for our children. If prisons are supposed to rehabilitate, then why would we sentence our babies to spend their lives there. Sarah Kruzan was not considered by a judge as being able to be rehabilitated. Sarah grew up in Riverside, California. Her mother was addicted to drugs and use to abuse her. Sarah had a hard life but still continued to excel in school. She ran track, she was on the principal honor roll list, and she received the Young Author's Award for a book she wrote about the effects of drugs. .

When Sarah was 11 years old she met this pimp named G.
