Myers-Brigg Type Indicator (MBTI)

Management is the attainment of organizational goals in an effective and efficient manner through planning, organizing, leading and controlling organizational resources. Not every individual is cut out for the job, some people demonstrate a higher capacity to do it well while others may lack some of the key characteristics needed. To help determine my future success or possible failure in a management role I will be aided by the results of my MBTI report. The MBTI or Myers-Brigg Type Indicator was a test or "physiological instrument" administered at the beginning of the course so that I may be able to not only understand myself better but so that I can compare my personality to the qualities that define a good manager. The test also serves to help identify my strength and weaknesses, helping me to understand myself better. Through using the knowledge acquired from my Management course and taking the information provided in my MBTI report I will analyze my results to determine what areas I need to work on to one day become a phenomenal manager. .

According to my MBTI report when interacting with others I was characterized as an "introvert", when determining how I take in data as a "sensing type" a "thinking type" when making decisions and a "judging type" when establishing priorities. An introvert "tends to focus their attention on the inner world of ideas and impressions." They tend to like quiet, are very detail orientated, think things through before acting, and work well alone. A sensing type "takes in information through the five senses and focus on the here and now." Sensing types are not fond of arising problems that do not have a standard way of being resolved, they don't make many errors, are good at precise work but can get impatient when details get complicated, they also like creating their own way of doing things. Thinking types "make decisions based primarily on logic and on objective analysis of cause and effect.
