Introduction.
Sunshine Shirt (SS) is a Melbourne based manufacturer of polo shirts located in the suburb of Sunshine and is also the only shirt manufacturer still manufacturing shirts in Australia. Its major competitors' manufacturing facilities were based either in China or India and as such their production costs were much lower than Sunshine Shirts. In the most recent financial years, SS faced a loss. To ensure its future success in achieving a profit to increase its competitive ability with China and India, SS needs an effective performance measurement and control system. To solve the problem, Customer Profitability Measurement Group (CPMG) engaged to evaluate Sunshine Shirts existing performance measurement and control systems and provide recommendations for improvements. .
By searching and examining information about SS, CPMG realized that there are several problems in its performance measurement and control system. To help SS achieve a profit in the future, CPMG recognized five main issues, that is, storage, delivery, quality problem and the customer profitability analysis and performance measurement. .
Conclusion.
In all, the storage, the delivery, the quality, the customers' profitability and the performance measurement in the current SS Company is not good enough to achieve a profit. By improving these problems, SS can get a higher quality of products and manufacturing and delivery efficiency. By discussing above, the priority customers made a contribution which should be improved continuously while the team and shop customers made a loss should be more profitable. .
By SS making a change followed by the recommendations, our group believes that SS can implement its activities efficiently, finally, to achieve its goal of making a profit in the future.
