Alternative energy sources are the way of the future. As the demands on limited natural resources continue, people are increasingly turning to renewable, alternative energy sources. Often more noble in theory than practical in application, breakthroughs may soon lead to alternative energy sources. Solar energy in particular will become a physical reality instead of just an eco-friendly dream.
Amazing Potential.
The problem with solar energy has often been its practicality or lack thereof. It is expensive and not all that durable in real life conditions. This is a large part of what keeps solar energy on the drawing board. Advances that could change all that, however, are not far away. .
Instead of building solar energy panels out of glass, scientists are working on making them out of plastic. This would make them cheaper, more flexible, and more durable. Also, they could become portable. Imagine rolling up a solar panel to take with you anywhere you go. The possibilities are endless. Outfitting homes and businesses with such paneling would be infinitely simpler and more practical than doing the same with its glass counterparts. The science may not be there yet but is making impressive strides.
To Benefit A Nation.
President Bush spoke of these advances as he referred to the progress made in the field of solar energy. Its use has increased in recent years, and he stated that someday soon it will enjoy widespread use. Peoples" homes will be outfitted with solar paneling that will stand up to the abuse of the elements while drawing in energy for heating and cooling. The solar panels may not yet be at the desired level of efficiency in converting the solar energy source into usable energy, but it is well on its way.
Wal-Mart Uses Solar Power.
Even the titan Wal-Mart has begun using solar power. With goals to reduce emissions, Wal-Mart has begun using alternative energy sources, such as solar paneling in some of its stores.
