Math essay

You must square the height and width of the room because unlike a flat shape drawn on paper, a room is three dimensional so you must double the length of everything (considering that the room has a roof and four walls). A ruler and pencil are used to draw a blue print of the three dimensional area of the kitchen stating the exact size or length of the floor, walls and height of the ceiling. Once the room has been measured it is ready for demolition then for the new materials, and fixtures to be placed inside.
Once the Measurements have been taken, checking for material and fixture placements begins. Materials are items such as pipes for a sink, or an outlet for an electrical stove. Fixtures are larger, more complex items such as a cabinets, stove, refrigerator or dish washer etc. A design of all the cabinets and major appliances have to be made next to fit into the space indicated by the measurement of the room. The math used at this time is area, volume, addition and subtraction and geometry for drawing the blue print to scale. When making the blue print design for the kitchen you also have to check the placement of the original fixtures, one must make sure that their are paths that do not intersect with other already installed fixtures. This is where the demolition part of the job comes in, as indicated on the proposal, the first thing listed is demolition. In this kitchen there are old cabinets, plaster walls, and ceiling, ceramic floor tiles, and old existing appliances will need to be removed without destroying what parts of the original kitchen that might be kept. So by using the right tools like a sledge hammers, a drills, and different types of screw drivers, it is easier to take down these obstacles. Math is used in deciding what size and shape tool will be used to remove the cabinet or unscrew an appliance, if you use a screw driver that is too large or too small to remove a screw them you will damage that screw head by tearing its edges and making it more difficult to remove.
