Engineering and Management

By managing a project, management has been applied. "Industrial Engineering (IE) is concerned with the design, analysis and implementation of any production or service system with the goal of improving its quality and productivity" , this is a great example of engineering involved with business. This example also proves that engineering and business are not only related within technology and machineries but also with management and other aspects of business. In other words, engineering and management are correlated if one hopes to achieve maximum success in present and the future business world.
It is apparent that in the up coming business world engineering would lead the way. The simple fact is, with the continual evolution of technology, more and more businesses are beginning to depend on engineering. Business dependence on engineering is so widespread that it has grown to include businesses that have traditionally heavily depended on natural resources. In the past these businesses did not depend on an overwhelming use of engineering. An example of this is the farming industries, in the past farming and the farming businesses were not heavily dependent on engineering. However, now, with the increase use of computers; even farmers highly rely on engineering, for daily activities. "By using information technology to manage the unique conditions for their farms, growers will have the potential to become more profitable--through reduced inputs, higher yields, and enhanced crop quality--while minimizing water quality impacts." It can be even ventured to say that they are now successfully using engineering and natural resources to maximize benefits. If traditional entrepreneurs such as farmers are more and more reliant on computers, then one can see why engineers are more of a necessity to firms and other businesses that are not dependent on nature. As a time passes the world is depending more and more on technology.
