What is the church? What do we mean by the word "church"? Derived probably from the Greek kuriakon (i.e., "the Lord's house"), which was used by ancient authors for the place of worship. It also comes from the Greek word "ekklesia" which means "called out ones" or "assembly". It means any assembly, or in our case, a Christian assembly that meets together to worship the Lord. The church is a formally organized body of Christian believers, holding the same creed, observing the same rites, and acknowledging the same ecclesiastical authority; a denomination.
But, most people today think that the church is the building or just an organization. However, Jesus did not die for a building, a program, or an organization; He died for people. Saved people are the church. It's all right to have a building the church meets in, and people should be organized, but don't be deceived. That's not the church. Saved people are the church. .
God's kindness represents the Church because He's the one who made it. He even He wrote to the church or to them that are sanctified (saved people). In short, it is a sacred place where people commune with God. It is a formal place where people give thanks to the Lord, praise Him with all their heart and ask for forgiveness. It a dwelling where the one big family of God worship and celebrate various consecrated occasions. It is the place where people celebrate their love for God and to their special ones. Church shows God's kindness because of the cross, which is displayed in the holy ground. The cross is a powerful symbol of God's love. The cross of every church let the people of God remember how Jesus sacrificed His life just to save us from our sins. This demonstrates the kindness of God that He gave us His one and only begotten Son.
