The Promise to David


The resurrection was not a point to make us believe God was real, but a divine action extending, the promises of history, and we see complete fulfillment in the Old Testament.
             The author mention who killed the Giant? The story goes that David killed Goliath, the Philistine Giant, 2nd Samuel 21:19. He also mention that a certain Elhanan killed Goliath. 2nd Samuel 22:19 KJV says Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam. The author made a statement we really do not know who killed Goliath, because of the scriptures. But the scriptures declares David single combat killed Goliath. Some of his writing are very explanatory but can cause you to evaluate his ideas and challenge you of your own thinking. He points out historical information of why we have history.
             The author is showing how God made use of the Hebrews experience of living under a king for his purpose, and by this preparing the people of the revelation of Himself in Christ Jesus. With this in mind the author is using the focus point of Kind David to show the order, and conditions which one person succeeds to title and throne. We could look in the Bible and see how King Saul came down as quickly as God raised him up, through his own thoughts, fears, judgment and not seeking the Lord for answers. The kingdom of God which leads to the gospel. Through the King David we can grasp history or a whole of Gods history, and his plans and promises for all. Authors thesis reflects that the experience of God produces a deep influence on our lives, and the way we think. using King David was a good focus point of how God moves through a person life with victor or defeat. .
             David we see the victory of him fighting battles, and God leading, and helping him and David communion with God on issues. But also with David, we see tragedy of rebellion against Gods plan.
