             What promises? Do these promises apply to everyone? The argument of this book is God enters our world in ways we can understand. But do we understand? In the Old testament God did in fact come within the boundaries of our human experience. Our human experience include our own personal, intimate experience, and the experience we gain in society; from the aspects of right and wrong, the truth, with knowledge. The past experience of the Old Testament gives us a general idea of who God is , the general idea of his presence, and the action He chooses with His chosen people. These chosen people had their experience with God and produce a deep influence in their lives, as well as in our lives; which changes our way of thinking; either positive or negative.
             Peter quoting the 16th Psalms in the Bible, traditionally ascribed to David, he spoke of an greater. Was David prophesying? The author spoke of David as a prophet, or should we say the Spirit of God was with him? The God that was with David is the God of Abraham, Isaacs, and Jacob. The same God that Jesus was raised from the dead.
             In the Holy Bible, Acts 3:13 says, "The God of Abraham and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our Fathers, glorified his servant Jesus.
             We have to understand the Old Testament before we can get clear vision of the New Testament, for both show how God saves and delivers. Jesus triumph over death was the fulfillment of the promises to David.
             Messiah means anointed king. David was an anointed king. Messiah would win for Gods people. David did win for Gods people. Was the Messiah like David? The Messiah was like David, but greater, no sin, and would fulfill the promises to David. Matthew 22: 42 saying, What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he? They say unto him , the Son of David. Jesus was greeted as the son of David by a blind man as he enter Jericho. The promises made to David was fulfilled by Jesus.
