The Live of a Pyramid Builder

The pyramids on the Giza plateau are the last remaining of the seven great wonders of the world (Khufu's Great Pyramid 1). The construction of the pyramids is something to marvel at. This slice of life was taken from a fictional man named Nakhti, who helped construct the largest of the pyramids, Khufus pyramid. .
Through out this story you will see the daily struggles of an Egyptian worker. Not just any Egyptian worker but one that was the son of the man in command of the block draggers. It was their job to move the two and a half ton slabs of limestone from the quarries to the pyramid to be set in place. Most of the Egyptians considered it an honor to be part of such an immaculate feet. .
The story begins with Nakhti and his friend Paramesse, they are both given a promotion from stone draggers to the supervisors of the draggers. They both handle this excitement in different ways. Lets see what happens.

The sun awoke me, as it did every morning. I tried to sleep a minute longer but I was roused by my friend Paramesse. "Nakhti, time to get up we have a lot of work to get done today", he said as he stretched his arms to the sky. Paramesse, my friend since boyhood had always imagined that we would someday be exactly where we are now; serving together honoring our Pharaoh. I looked over at him. His dark hair cascaded around his perfect face. He smiled as he looked up at the sun. I put my hands over my face and grimaced. I didn't want Paramesse to know that I wanted just one day for my self. One day not to look at the enormous task we had in front of us. Building the tomb for my King, King Khufu, was something I always knew I would do. It was my fathers dream (his dream, not mine) that I follow in his footsteps and become an overseer of the draggers. Right now I was the lowest of the low. I was a dragger. Although this did not seem like much to me, my father always reminded me that I was doing it for my King.
