The country I choose to research was Jamaica. Jamaica's population is 2,695,867 as of (July 2003). The population is divided between urban and rural dwellers, and grows at a rate just short 1 percent each year. Jamaican's are mostly descendants of Blacks 90.9%, East Indians 1.3%, White 0.2%, Chinese 0.2%, mixed 7.3%, others 0.1%. .
The different languages spoke in Jamaica is English and Patois Creole dialect with West African Spanish, and French elements.
Jamaican religion wise Jamaican's are 80% Christian. Jamaican's major religions include the following Anglicanism, Church of God, Baptist, Seventh Day Adventist, United Church Brethen, Jehovah Witness, Moravian, and Roman Catholic.
The way Jamaican's live is varied from luxurious for the affluent to rudimentary for those of lesser economic means. Jamaicans are very familiar with the basic needs and wants to survive such as electricity, mail, water, and telephone services. Right now in Jamaica twelve thousand people alone are on a waiting list for a new home. Two- thousand dollars will build one twelve by twelve wooden house with a cement floor and a zinc roof in this community. So basically in Jamaica your either rich /middle classified or your really poor.
My opinion about Jamaica is that the rich/ middle classified should want to help the poor/lower classified. Because of that was one of them they would want the same done for them, not saying that the lower class shouldn't have made a life for themselves but the least the upper/middle classified can do is help. Most people think that Jamaica is really a poor country but really there not there average like most countries.
