The Sound of Thunder

            The sound of thunder by ray Bradbury is a science fiction narrative of time travel. Eckels, Travis, and Lesperance traveling back in time to hunt dinosaurs. Travis is the safari leader of the expedition. Through the way Bradbury describes his personality I imagine he would be a rugged unshaven male in this 40s. Since he is a safari leader he would have a medium build and be fairly fit. Matched with his behavior I also feel that he would have a very low and raspy voice.
             Travis is a very harsh man that believes in caution and the consequences of things. Thoughout the story he is very stern with Eckels about the alertness of the situation. I think Travis thinks things through and is a very sensible guy. He constantly warns Eckels of consciousness of what could happen if he stepped off the path. He seems to loss his temper easily and makes rash decisions when aggravted. .
             Travis is a flat/static character during the story he doesn't change his viewpoint of things and continuous to be very rough with Eckels. Repeatedly he keeps constant vigilance and tells Eckels the same. The purpose of Travis in the story was kind of a warning to the mistakes of time travel. In the story with the one butterfly killed caused words and the views of a nation to change. This story illustrates the possibilities and the errors of science that me in our future.
