I belong to India, one of the largest populated country. At the same time, she is a country with one of the fastest growing economies in the world. However, India has its share of poverty, too. Multi-storied buildings and colonies of shanties have been growing together. And with the population growing haphazardly, efforts to remove poverty have not paid off yet. .
I have witnessed many sights of poverty in my country that I m not proud of. A typical slum dwelling site consists of several young nude children, craving for food or playing in hazardous environments. Some suffers from deficiency diseases; the rest long to go to school. Also there are no hygiene or sanitation facilities and no proper housing either. Drinking water is impure, and there are not electrical facilities. A lot of children are trained to beg for money, and child labor is common in every family since they all need money. .
I have encountered other scenes of poverty at railway stations and while traveling on trains. Young children beg for good or sweep the coaches of train in order to get money. Some sing songs, work as potters, and polish shoes, all for need of money. At their age they should be going to school for knowledge empowerment and to pursue sports.
I feel sat about the status quo. The Effects of Poverty in Our World All over the world, disparities between the rich and poor, even in the wealthiest of nations is rising sharply. However, I resolve to improve these conditions for some poor people. Whether or not poverty is fair has long been debated. Constantly, diverse groups of people are trying to come up with ways to alleviate it. We need to create an economy in which jobs are available to everyone. The government along with the strong corporations should strive to improve housing and sanitation facilities to people in the poor sections of society. Poverty is an issue which society faces each day.
