Jordan's grandpa had bought it in the 70's intending turn it into a hotel, but plans fell through and it remained vacant most of the year. There were 10 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a library, a bar, and a pool room, all of them covered in 60's décor. All the floors were marble and there was a massive, marble, round staircase leading to the upstairs. All the walls were stone causing strange noises and our own voices to echo throughout the house. The place was erie and almost creepy, especially at night, and we all joked about how it reminded us of The Shining.
The first day was spent by the pool, the boys did crazy stunts off the diving board and the girls lounged around and watched, giving them the attention they were looking for. Alcohol was rampant through out the house since everyone was actually of age to drink. We were living the life, the sun was out warming our bodies as we soaked it all up, everyone was getting along, and if you could read our minds, the deepest thought you would come across was "I need another beer!-. Our minds, bodies, and souls seemed free and there was not a worry in the world.
The next day Barry planned a boat ride for everyone staying at the house. The tour boat was called "The Booze Cruise- and it was a popular attraction in San Carlos. Everyone put in twenty dollars and we got a boat for two hours and unlimited margaritas. We were all ecstatic and the event seemed to be the topic of everyone's conversations that day. I could not wait for the ride, the meeting time was 5:00pm at the Marina and I was not a minute late.
Everyone ran on the boat, anticipating the excitement that was about to begin. The boat was about 10 feet wide and 15 feet long. The end three fourths of the boat was lined with a long bench on either side and a tent like roof structured by thin metal poles. Towards the front of the boat where the benches ended, there was the driver's area with a wheel and a radio, to the right of that a couple of stairs jutted into a two foot by two foot bathroom and a small storage closet.
