It was at this time she started to go dancing and then met Dmitriy. Her interest in him increased, but a divorce was not compatible with the precepts of the Pentecostal church. Her conflict grew and put her in a state of great agitation. One evening she came home from dancing, called me and some other friends and told us that she was going to give up her husband Tony, marry Dmitriy, go to Latvia with him and have twenty babies. She was talking very fast and saying many things, several of which were incomprehensible. She also told us that she was seeing Hitler and that World War III was about to start. She then went to her mother-in-law and told her to take back her son Tony because he was immature. The following day she went to work and told her employer that the house is haunted; she did not feed or changed the baby. The mother of the child called Tony and informed him that Olga's behavior is very strange. A few days later Tony took her to their church counselor, whom she "told off" in no uncertain terms. She finally spit at him. A psychiatrist was consulted, and he recommended hospitalization. .
After consulting a family doctor and a psychiatrist, Olga was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Olga refused to be hospitalized or to have any other kind of treatment. I hit the books trying to understand what was happening to her and how I could be of help. I also talked to a mental health counselor trying to get help for her, but was informed that Olga has to want help before they can help her. Olga left Tony soon after; she was unable to keep a job for more then a couple weeks. Olga and Dimitriy broke-up shortly after her divorce. She moved in with her parents and denies having a mental health problem. I am sad to say, I am not able to help Olga anymore. She does not want to have close contact with me or any of her other friends. It can be said that Olga is in denial stage and does not believe that diagnosis is true.
