Ah "The most wonderful time of the year" has come again, Christmas. This joyful, yet busy, season greets us full force with holiday activities. People are bustling around town with many bulging bags in their arms, full of Christmas goodies. Teen-agers and adults alike are attending Christmas festivities throughout the month of December. Children are busy playing in the snow as they anxiously await Christmas Day to reveal what is in those beautifully wrapped packages under the tree. Families rush here and there, buying presents for one another and picking out the perfect Christmas tree together. Shopping centers are jam-packed with people because of all the great deals and sales they have to offer.
Whoa! Take a time-out. Step back, and look at what this season has become for all of us. Is it just that season after Thanksgiving full of sales and shopping or a time centered on presents? Or is it more than that? How about a time when families get together to enjoy each other's company? Or giving gifts to those who have helped you, as a sign of your appreciation and gratitude?.
Many of us have become accustomed to the rushing around that this season brings, yet we don't stop to think about what it all means. This season is much more than just Santa Claus and Christmas trees. It is about spending time with those you care about, taking time out to bake cookies with your mom or helping your dad shovel snow off the driveway. It's about the things you do for your family and the time you spend with them.
