Through the thousands of years of the evolution of the Gorda, it has adapted to better survive within its environment. The Gorda has changed significantly over time and has adapted to its environment with new capabilities that include its miraculous soaring. The Gorda now, with its lighter weight , has the capability to jump short distances such as from tree to tree, which it was never able to do before. The evolutionary changes that we have observed from the Gorda was necessary for its survival to ward off its predators in the Australian Eucalypti Forests.
The Gorda is a marsupial, which are animals that have a pouch that protects its developing young. The Gorda is also an herbivore in the genus species Phascolarctos (leather-pouched bear) cinereus (ash-colored). The Gorda has dense fur ranging in color, as well as having an opposable modified index finger that acts as a second thumb.
The Gorda lives in South Australia migrating there a thousand years ago from North Australia where their ancestors were extinct. North Australia had a depleting supply of the Gorda's main food supply, the Eucalyptus tree. The Gorda moved their habitat to the very suitable South Australian habitat , abundant in it number and wide variety of eucalypti forests which they can they feed immensely on.
Many flying zones and major highways where flying cars exists, surround the eucalypti forests. Thousands of flying cars pass right by the Gorda habitat everyday and cause disruption. Though these outside factors, pose serious threat to the Gorda, they have survived well because of their soaring abilities to evade these obstacles. This tropical rainforest biome that the Gordas live in is a very lush one. There are numerous plants and animals living around the area that contribute to this a rich environment. There is an annual precipitation rate that exceeds 2500 mm and also an average temperature of 30-35 C.
