The decision to leave one's birthplace can be frightening.yet, over the years, millions of immigrants have said good-bye to friends and family to start a new life in America.People made that difficult move to achieve the American Dream. The American Dream has a different meaning to each individual. Some seeks freedom and democracy, for others it means a house with a yeard and two cars and some opportunity. For me it's just a dream, not reality.
Before I came here, I thought life was easy and there would be no struggle. I thought America was a heaven on earth and everything was perfect here. I was foolish not to know that there is no such thing as perfection.A dream is laways a dream. My family's goal was to come here and know there is this perfect land where things are better and this thought created a drive within us. If we don't like certain things about out native land, then we can always go to America. For that reason my family left bagladesh, a tiny county in southeast Asia.
My family was sick and tired of the corrupt government, unstable education, life's insecurity, standard of living, no freedom, an dlack of opportunity. We wanted for my sister and me to get better education, and a better life so we came to America looking for those things.
Not until we arrived,we didn't know the frustrating thing about the American Dream is the moment you grasp it,it changes shape and becomes something else. It loses its glamour and suddenly you realize it isn't what you thought it was.
A lot of things in American society are great but every country has great things. However, just because someone else has a good mom, doesn't mean that one's own is not any good. Every mom is the best. It's the same with one's pwn country. Every country is the best country, therefore, the fascination of America always will remain a dream to me.
