All praises are due to Allah (SWT), the Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon Muhammad (pbuh), His servant and Messenger. Like those who came before us, we praise Him, seek His Help, and ask for His Forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah (SWT) from the evil in our souls and from our sinful deeds. .
It is the goal of each and every Muslim to earn a place amongst the fortunate ones; the dwellers of Paradise. For this purpose we all strive, some harder than others, and today, Muslims around the world anxiously await the month of Ramadhan. It is this prized month in which the entire Quran was revealed to the Angel, Jibrael (Gabriel) and was then revealed successively to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) over a period of twenty-three years. But in order to reap the maximum benefit of this Ramadhan, I believe some pointers are required. .
For starters, we have to enter this month in purity and humility.
Islam is a pure religion and stresses purity in all the fields of life. Allah (SWT) wants the Muslims to earn honestly in order to ensure justice in society. .
The Holy Quran states: "O believers! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you with, and be grateful to Allah, if it is indeed He whom you worship." (Quran, 2:172).
As is a norm today, Muslims tend to overlook this fact and derive their income through unlawful means. Today many could care less, earning through injustice, dishonesty, corruption, bribery, interest, theft, gambling, etc. Furthermore, many people violate the Islamic laws of inheritance and deprive the rightful heirs of their rights. In this way the usurpers add to their income what is prohibited and what does not belong to them.
Remember that the sustenance The All-Wise has decreed for us will find its mark. But He wants us to work hard to seek it. When Allah has decided our sustenance, then why choose illegal ways of earning it? .
Earning one's livelihood and spending in accordance should conform with the Shariah.
