The Story of the Loaves and Fishes was first published in 1985 by The C. The story begins as Jesus and his disciples were at the sea of Galilee performing miracles for healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, and making the lame to walk. A multitude of five thousand was sitting on the banks of the river to see Jesus perform these miracles. As the day went by, the multitude became hungry and there was no food to feed them. After looking around, they found a little boy whose mother packed him a lunch containing five barley loaves and two fishes. Jesus" disciples informed him that there was a boy that had a lunch and Jesus replied, "bring the boy and the lunch to me". He then had the crowd to sit down in groups of five hundred. He blessed the food and as he blessed the food it began to multiply enough to feed the entire multitude. After everyone was fed, twelve baskets of fragments was collected.
The book caused a lot of emotions in me. I felt happy when Jesus proved to the people that he is able to feed you when you are hungry. When you obey him and do his will, miracles happen. I was also excited to see how Jesus multiplied the loaves and the fishes so everyone was able to eat. Jesus makes way a way when things seem impossible.
I enjoyed reading this book because it lets me know that if I depend on Jesus, he will always make thing alright. If I am hungry, he will feed me, if I am sick he will cure me, and if I"m lonely he will comfort me. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
