Animal Farm

Societies respond in different ways when their government implements new rules. In the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, the animal's lack of reaction to the ruling class allows them to be more humanlike. The animals contribute to the farm's regression by refusing to act when a wrong is committed, believing all they see and hear, and by not bothering to better educate themselves. .
A problem with the worker community is that they don't act when an injustice is carried out, the pigs could jump to any extreme and not worry about a rebellion. Boxer is a good example because he was very loyal, and worked amazingly hard for the pigs. Then when he was injured it put him on a fast track to the slaughterhouse. The animals don't act due to their ignorance; because of this the ruling class can do whatever they deem necessary. The pigs are in complete control and they know it. As the commandments slowly start to change the animals take into consideration that the commandments had been tampered with, but evaluated that they were the ones in the wrong. The pigs then start to break the commandments altogether, the confessions are held, the pigs start to live in the house, sleep in beds, drink alcohol, wear clothes and walk on two legs. Amazingly nothing was done to stop this, the working class just idled on, most completely oblivious. The animals have almost complete obedience toward the pigs, and this gives them unbelievable power. The lower class" lack of action lets them succumb to the pig's brutal reign, and their lack of knowledge leads them to believe anything they encounter. .
A downfall of the lower class is that they believe everything they see and hear. They will devour any information given to them and believe it to be true.
The pig's prime followers are the sheep. They do whatever they are told and believe everything they hear. They profess this outright by constantly bleating, "Four legs good, two legs bad!" whenever the occasion arises.
