VX gas is usually in liquid form, despite its name. VX is also odorless and is highly adhesive, a new form of VX has just been made that makes it impossible to remove it from the surface that it stuck to. Thus, after an army captures an enemy base they can lay the VX around leave and not have to worry about anyone mounting a counterstrike. The "V" in VX means that it has a large persistence, unlike Sarin gas, which is also called GB. The liquid form of VX is not as powerful as the gas form and death form the liquid form is usually about in an hour or two. But, the gas form of VX is very powerful, in fact it is so powerful that VX has yet to be used to its full potential, fearing an all out nuclear attack if the full strength is used. The only countries that have admitted to possessing VX gas are the United States, France, Russia, and England. .
Biological weapons use pathogens and toxins to infect large amounts of people. Since the weapon is biological the main concern is that it could be more lethal than the chemical weapons previously mentioned. Biological weapons can be altered, through biotechnology, to be immune to vaccines and antibiotics. Some of the worst feared biological weapons are anthrax, smallpox, botulin toxin, and Ebola virus. Anthrax is a bacteria that usually affect cattle and sheep, but if it gets into the right atmosphere and germinates all it needs is amino acids and some other elements that is found in human and animal blood. Once inside the anthrax multiples and begins to attack healthy cells, eventually resulting in hemorrhaging, swelling, a drop in blood pressure and ultimately death. .
Smallpox was a virus that everyone thought that was gone for good, the last case documented in the United States was in 1949 and 1977 was the last reported case in the world. Even though the virus has been eradicated, there is a strong fear that terrorist will make new strains of smallpox that we have yet to make a vaccine.
