There is a lot that can be done to improve our high school. First, we would want to change the grading systems for the cream class and heterogeneous classes. We consider it as an unfair system especially for the cream class. We had proven this true because it is obvious that the students in the cream class are given much more difficult topics in each subject rather than the non-cream classes; moreover, the latter were given the same ceiling grade as the former. This results to the tendency of the non-creams to achieve higher grades and the cream class to receive grades less than expected. Also, the additional topics make the students in the cream class exert more effort and allot more time in studying even though this means giving up some leisure activities that many other students are experiencing. Still, many people say that high school grades do not matter that much in college as long as one passes but we believe that it is better to give the students what they deserve. We hope the school board would try to put greater attention on this matter.
Secondly, we have hectic schedules. Sometimes, eight hours in school is not enough. We have some many things to do like activities and practices to attend to, projects and researches to make, and homework and tests to take the following day. Our schedule is not balanced. We wake up early in the morning to go to school, and sleep late at night, to finish school works. Despite these things, teachers expect us to have mastered the lessons. We are having a hard time trying to absorb all the things our teachers are telling us because our time is too short and there are too many things for us to do. As a result, we cannot accomplish our tasks well.
Teachers are not perfect, and we understand that. They are nice people, but beneath their imperfections lie some thins that should be given attention. Being in the top class, we believe one must meet the high expectations of some teachers.
