Lennie is the complete opposite, tall, bulky, shapeless face, and mentally slow. Lennie is a nice guy at heart, he wouldn't want to create trouble for George on purpose and intentionally, Only that he is careless and much to strong for his own good and to little thinking cause him to get into unwanted trouble. Lennie to dreams on having his own place but in a more childish way, he just wants to tend the rabbits. He dreams on tending the rabbits so he could touch their soft fur and have lots of soft thing to touch at all times. In order for they"re both of their dreams to come to reality they first would need to get enough money. They find a Job in a ranch not to far from Soledad, they are one step closer to there dream, but only if Lennie stays out of trouble. .
             Here in the ranch the theme of the Novel remained the same and is reflected on all the characters. One of the first persons to meet in the ranch is Old Candy. Candy like many characters suffer some kind of handicap. The old swamper only has one arm and has nothing left but his dog. That soon changes after Carson shoots the dog to it out of its own misery. The dog was no good to himself on the count that he had no teeth, stiff with rheumatism and there was no other option but to shoot him. Candy then tells George that he wishes that when he is no good to himself that someone would shoot him. After that killing of the dog Candy has nothing left to live for, no more hopes and doesn't even dare to dream. All was not lost for Candy because George offered him a peace of the dream. Candy jump at the idea for it was all he had to look forward to. In order to achive the dream of Lennie, George, and Candy, they had to work and save up enough money to buy their land. Their dreams now seemed a lot closer because strength comes in numbers. But characters like Curley seem to jeopardize their dreams. Curley is the boss's son, a boxer that for some reason is always in the mood to start trouble.
