Catcher In The Rye

The Catcher In The Rye by J.
The Main characters in this book are Holden Caulfield. The whole story pretty much revolves around him. He is telling this story to a psychoanalyst but you really start to feel like he is telling it directly to you, or as if you are going through a journey inside of his sick and twisted mind. Another one of the characters is Phoebe. The reason I bring this character up is because a lot of this story has her involved in Holden's thoughts. Events that are going on in this story are not told in a normal fashion. The events in the story really aren't chronological order. He is telling basically his life story to a psychoanalyst as a form of therapy I guess. He is having one let down after another and just can't seem so cope with the world and its harshness. There is no one specific place this story takes place in. He jumps around a lot. There isn't even one place he stays in for more than a couple of days. I don't think that there is a specific date listed of which the story takes place in. The whole reason this story is taking place is because Holden is a really messed up person and he needs some major therapy. I guess that he is just trying to find himself in a world that he really can't. He has let down after let down. This story actually takes place in a Mental Health type place. You are hearing him tell this freaky story to a psychoanalyst. The whole main idea of this story is that Holden Caulfield is this lost weird boy/man. He has a point of calling almost everyone a "phony" and words like that. He gets expelled from his Collage Pency Prep because his grades are failing. This is not the first time this has happened to him though. He has been kicked out of a couple other not listed schools though. Him and his room mate get into a fight after his room mate goes out on a date with one of Holden's old friends/fling. The whole time this guy and girl are on their date Holden is going ballistic.
