What are the standards of a successful life? If someone would look in the dictionary they will find success as a favorable or desired outcome, the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence. After a moments' thought they will be convinced that the question is by no means an easy one to answer. If someone would say that another man is successful, but what do we mean by it? If one man has houses, land, has large bank accounts, and has many apparent friends, such a man is accounted successful. Yet, all of these things have been acquired by unrelenting labor, by hard, and avid dealings with his fellow men. If one man has a loving wife and many children and does not have a large bank account, does this mean he is not successful? Many of the most enduring and satisfying forms of success has nothing do with acquiring power, wealth, or fame; success is being happy with the decisions you have made in your life.
Having a successful life does not necessarily mean being rich and famous, but rather being content with the decisions that have made in your life. Prominent people, for example, have a lot of money, big houses, and tons of expensive cars but may not be successful in their life. They are the spotlight of the media and have basically no privacy in their world. Would most people consider that being successful? Some people consider having money as the main factor of being successful, but what if they have money and they are still not content with your life? Most people hear about actresses and actors all the time and how they are trying to hide things from the public, like their weddings. Therefore, they do not want everyone to know about their lives. They went to Hollywood to become rich and famous so they have reached their set goals in life but are they probably are not content with the outcomes.
