Since 1945, the world has seen many advances in technology. These progressions have occurred in numerous amounts of different areas. These revolutions have had both positive and negative effects on human life. The Green Revolution is a great illustration of the developments that are both good and bad for us humans.
The Green Revolution has increased the food supply tremendously throughout the 1900's. Scientists have developed various ways to increase our food manufacture. Such examples of expanding our food supply are an irrigation system to dispense water, machinery to enhance yields from their land, fertilizer and pesticides to supplement the soil and kill the insects that eat the plants, and varieties of grains and livestock to supply additional meat and milk. .
All of these advances have affected our economy and diet. We have increased the amount of food we sell. This has helped to somewhat balance our economy in agriculture. Our lifespan has increased because we eat better and a whole lot more than before. We have been fortunate to be a wealthier nation, therefore, much of our country has had a surplus of food and water. .
Although there have been great rewards, there have also been a harmful fraction to it. These developments require money. As a result, other nations, who are not so fortunate, have not been able to even establish the new systems to increase their food and water supply. Another issue that has been raised is our population still outnumbers the production of food. Hence, it hasn't solved world hunger and poverty. .
People have magnificently benefited from this improvement in agriculture such as India and Indonesia. Even though many nations have not had the opportunity to profit as well, that doesn't mean that the Green Revolution was good for nothing. Many people aren't starving anymore and many nations are profiting from the excessive amount of supply. Overall, this revolution in agriculture has significantly helped millions of people throughout the world.
