Learning Teams

Lastly, the team needs training to deal with conflict, and needs to have some resolution strategies ready for them to deploy.
             Critical elements of teams.
good charter: each member of the team contributes to the success of the team. Effective teams have a clear mission and purpose. It may be a short-term objective (select a vendor for a project) or a long, ambitious goal (find ways to improve customer satisfaction). Regardless, teams need a defined, mutually agreed upon purpose and mission. Missions give teams direction and purpose.
Size: Be aware that if the team size is too big, many conflicts may result. Different group members will work in different ways, and it may result that some of the members don't even work at all.
member selection: All team members must be committed to achieving the goals of the team. Team members who don't take responsibility for team activities will undermine the commitment of other team members. Also, team will be weakened if its members bring personal agendas of what they want to achieve into team activities.
proper training: Team members must be committed to the team's mission. Commitment develops as members begin to personalize their involvement and take ownership for the team's success. Commitment may come immediate for some team members, and it may take some time for others. Each member should collaborate with his/her experience in order to make a successful project.
clear goals: Team goals must be clearly specified. This provides the focus around which team activities are organized. For example, the goals of a team designed to harvest the crop may be to do so in a timely manner, minimize field loss, prevent accidents to team members, etc. If team goals are not specified and agreed upon by all team members, the team will tend to wander without direction.
project plan: To successfully carry out the activities of the team, the role of each team member must be defined.
