In the beginning all that could be seen was a vast land with nothing .
No animals, no plants, not a single living thing could be .
seen. Then Baiame brought the ancestors from underground and overseas; .
brining with them life to this land. Every ancestor created its own thing and .
that thing is what the ancestor resembled. The swordfish ancestor looked like .
a swordfish. In creating earth and its people and all the living things they had .
to journey far and fought many battles. With these battles came new shape .
to the land; rivers came and mountains formed. However, when a wrong was .
caused by any man or animal the rainbow snake would come upon them. He .
would either drown them, making rivers or streams or eat them and spit out .
their bones which would make hills and valleys. However, the Rainbow snake .
was not just vengeful; she was an old woman who taught her children to talk .
and understand. She tought them how to survive. The sun was also created .
in dreamtime. One day the Emu ancestor and Eagle ancestor were fighting, .
the Eagle ancestor took Emu's egg and threw it up in the air, where it burst .
into flames. Then everyday Baiame fed the flame with wood and thats how .
the sun was created. Everything was created in Dreamtime, how animals and .
humans should act was predetermined forever. The ancestors taught their .
tribes, animal and human how to perfrom secret ceremonies; then .
dissapeared into the ground never to be seen, but ever present.
The Dreamtime story has many ties to nature, infact it is the most evident thing found in the story itself. It seems that everything has to do with nature. The opening lines of the story tell about how nature and everything was barren, however, when Baiame came, he brought the Dreamtime ancestors which brought life to the barren land. When god's met, most of them argued and in these quarrels they ended up creating different aspects and landforms in nature.
