Airport security has been dramatically changed since September 11. Recently, due to political situation, airport security has been stricter than before.
On the way to the security gate, there is a security guard on every corner of the line to check your ID and a boarding card. All passengers need to take off everything that they can such as coats, scarves, gloves, hats, shoes, cell phones and laptops if they want to pass the security gate. In the past, it was not required to take off shoes.
Passengers often forget to take off their shoes, so the security guards repeat their orders, "Shoes off, shoes off." After passing the security gate, passengers cooperate with the other security guards by extending their arms and legs. After all checks are complete, passengers try to replace their belongings, but sometimes they can't find their shoes. Sometimes they forget to put on their sweaters or some other items.
