Local High School Deputy Principal Not Meeting Student's Needs.
Today marks the beginning of what could be the most morally contentious event of the Singapore American High School's history: the day a student finally had the balls to bring his case against the local Deputy Principal, David Norcott.
And after 2 years, there is an emerging consensus: we, the students of the Singapore American School, have a complete failure on our hands.
Seeing as how Norcott has not gone through the troubles to publish his mission statements and goals to the public, one is forced to define the duties of a competent Deputy Principal his or herself. The duties a competent Deputy Principal has to his/her students are to support and help guide them through any dilemmas or difficulties they may be faced with during the course of their school career. He is to provide mediation and support during times of when a parent of student is in conflict with the staff over a curriculum-related matter. He is also expected to make available means for students and parents to offer their feedback on the curriculum.
The Singapore American High School Deputy Principal, Norcott, who bears an uncanny resemblance to our beloved father of fried chicken, Colonel Sanders, has failed to fulfill many of these duties. Unfortunately for us, while Sanders has passed away, our dear deputy has not. Mentions of his name are synonymous with grimacing faces and disgusted behaviors from the local student population. He is often the butt of many jokes and snide comments, and rightly so, as many of his actions and decisions are not only questionable, but unreasonable. .
The students have much to say on their behalf when asked about their opinion of Norcott. An anonymous student voices his view on the subject in this description, "All he does is talk, talk, and talk. I bet the single thing he talks to most is the PA system." Indeed, Norcott's reputation for overusing the PA system is widespread, as the PA system reaches every individual in the High School vicinity.
