He has been in prison for about 25 years, and is one of the selected few allowed to leave the premises under special circumstances. He self-educated himself and lectures newly arrived prisoners on what they are about to encounter. .
Logan Theriot, nicknamed "Bones", killed his wife. He is my personal favorite. He is an older man dying of lung cancer. We meet him when he is in the hospital wing. He admits to the murder and explains his motives. His wife repeatedly mistreated her baby and Bones did not agree with that behavior. Though not his child, he was humane. He even told his wife that he would care for the child. When he simply couldn't tolerate her behavior, he informed her that if she mistreated the baby again, he would kill her - he did. Bones" story, presents friendship and love. On Christmas Day his friends, both white and black, visit him. They share laughs with him and shed tears of sadness to see him in such a state of agony. Bones loves his friends and chooses to be buried on prison grounds so that he can stay close to them; this is another testament to genuine emotions.
