Lets face it the government can't ban all prayer. People can pray silently. Because of the law activates like See You At The Pole are allowed to take place every year. .
Many people think it should not be allowed because it seems like a demonstration of their religion that they don"t want to be a part of. It is taken place before school hours and anyone can come. No one is forced to come but no one is excluded. See you at the pole(SYATP) is when students gather around the flagpole and pray together about the school"s students and teachers, school year, our country and whatever else is in their heart. .
" In 1998 over 3 million students in all 50 states and in over 20 countries met at their school flagpole for prayer. Each prayer meeting is sponsored, organized, and led by local students. Students have a right to organize and sponsor a SYATP event if it is outside school hours and is not disruptive. They have the right to pray before meals, pray on school busses, bring a Bible to school, like science clubs, or any other club. Student killing are often fueled my rage. The anger is often caused by the harassment of people who are different. Reasons may be because of their religion, sexual orientation, race, disability and the list goes on.
