Suicide Myth

Back when the world was new, there lived, in the Valley of the Winds, twin sisters; Lilac and Lilly. Now if at the word twin you thought in your mind identical, you couldn't be more wrong. Lilac the older of the two with her eyes that sparkled like dew, hair that shined like the sands of the sea and skin as creamy as fresh milk; was kind, virtuous and all those other good things. Whereas Lilly, with her cold grey eyes and charcoal hair was cruel, cold and vindictive. So naturally it was Lilac who seemed to get all the attention, praise and love from everyone; leaving Lilly incessantly in her shadow. .
No one seemed to realize the impact it made on Lilly's soul to be in Lilacs shadow, but every year she just got colder and pushed herself further into her being so that her heart turned to ice. It would be the year that they were meant to be betrothed that Lilly would snap. Lilac didn't mean to hurt her. How could she know that Lilly was in love with Demetrius who in turn was in love with Lilac? How could he not be? But Lilly took it hard. She swore on that frosty night of Lilacs betrothal that she would no longer be in her shadow. Lilly figured if Lilac where out of the picture she would get the recognition that she deserved. .
Lilly worked day and night on her plan. She needed the perfect method and alibi. Finally after weeks of brooding and scheming, she had it figured out. She would invite her sister on a last bachelorette picnic to the cliffs where she would push her off, and then run home crying and say, "While she was looking over the edge she lost her balance and fell." It was perfect. No one would ever know. That is, no one but the Gods. .
The fateful day came. Lilac was so excited. It had been so long since Lilly would even speak to her. They packed a lunch and walked to the cliffs. Everything was going as planned. After eating she casually asked Lilac if she cared to "see the view".
