Open Boat

When an experience of this magnitude happens to a person during there life they usually come out a much stronger person from the experience. There has been a couple times where in my life where I have been In a tough situation or had to do a lot of work. When the task is done I feel as though I could do anything much easier that I would normally be able to do it. I feel like a much more accomplished person although while it was happening I hated it and thought it was the hardest thing I've ever done. .
             Once just this past year my friend and I went up to my uncle's cabin. This cabin is out in the middle of the woods in the Allegany Mountains. Half way up the mountain in the pitch dark my friend's car broke down. As we tried and tried to start the car we pondered on what to do next. There was no one within mile from where we were and we were in the middle of the woods where there are many dangerous animals. We decided to hike the rest of the way up the mountain to safety for the night, bringing only the bare essentials. After a quite gruesome hike we were finally there. Upon arrival we found there was no wood stored up in the camp and because it had been raining all weekend the entire forest was saturated. We had our knives, a two liter of soda, and a small slab of meat we planned on grilling. I was able to find a bag of charcoal. Before we lit that we gathered all the wood we could see and get to and brought this in the cabin and lay it around the fireplace to dry it out. Using this wood we started a fire in the grill and started thawing out the meat on one side of the grill and left the flame on the other. As the meat thawed we put it on the flame so we had some nourishment. The next morning we drank a little of soda. We then walked to the car to try and start it but no luck. After going back up to the cabin we found my uncles bow some of his hunting gear. My friend being a quite good hunter went out and returned back a few hours later with news he got a doe.
