Christian Ritual

Today Christianity is one of the most popular religions of the world, with its beliefs used to make our laws, and keep the peace of the world. Jesus of Nazareth is the central figure of Christianity, and most Christians are defined by what they believe, and how they practise these beliefs in the form of rituals. .
The most common form of Christian Rituals is the weekly coming together to express their common belief in the Celebration of the Eucharist, or the Liturgy of the Word. This is usually done on a Saturday for a Vigil Mass, or on Sunday Evening. The common weekly ritual consists of a reading from the Old Testament, a reading from the Gospel, a reading from the New Testament, and a reflection on our sins.
As well as this celebration, there are rituals such as Christmas, Easter, and the Feast Days of Saints.
Christmas is commonly regarded as the birth of Jesus, the 25th of December. This is not the actual birth date of Jesus Christ. It is a date assigned by the Church symbolic of the Solstice of the Skies. This event is symbolic of the day of peace, that a light for the world will come to help us realise that we are all equal. Through this celebration we celebrate friendship, we celebrate peace, we celebrate humanity. Through the exchange of gifts we see that there is little difference between us all.
Christmas is a significant day in the Church's year, but Easter is perhaps the most important event in the Church's Year. The death of Jesus Christ showed us that we are all sinners, and that we will always be sinners, because although we make mistakes, we only realise the severity of our mistakes once harm is done. At Easter, we gather and realise not what Pilot's men did to Jesus, but what we did to Jesus, and ask God almighty for the strength to be more like Christ, to realise our mistakes before we make them.
Saints are people who have been recognised for the great Christian thins that they have done to help others, usually by going out of their way in awful conditions.
