With America at war, the country has fallen into a great depression. Millions of dollars are being lost on a daily basis, and many different business industries are feeling the negative effects from it. However, one industry is steadily increasing in funds day by day. It is the Consumer Electronics Industry, also known as the "Gadget Industry".
A Gadget is defined as, "Any small mechanical electronic device or contrivance." Basic examples of these range from computers, to phones, to calculators, and even devices such as toasters. Their function doesn't decide whether they are considered a gadget or not. All that matters is that they are small and are functioned by some type of mechanism. In recent years, this industry has established itself as one of the highest grossing industries to date, and it's still increasing at a swift rate.
To truly understand the Gadget industry, one must understand its history. .
Gadgets were first introduced in America, right after the Industrial Revolution. It was a time of prosperity for families, and for one of the first times in American History, people started establishing "wants" instead of "needs". For example, back in those times for light purposes, people of the middle class would use candles. People of the upper-social class would see this, and they would demand better. So inside their houses, these people's light supply would be established by light bulbs. This was one of the first examples in Gadget history. And basically, this is how Gadgets are founded; by the process of improvement upon standard inventions. This is an ever going cycle, and without it, America wouldn't be what it is today.
Coming ahead to the future now, the Gadget industry has erupted. Millions and millions of different companies are steadily trying to improve upon each other in an ongoing fashion. Thus, explaining why the industry is what it is today, "over-flooded.
