However, they all have one thing in common: the ambition to obtain a respected education and degree. With this in mind, friendships created while in college often last far past graduation, but into the students future adult lives. The main reason for these long lasting relationships is the fact that the students are on the same paths in life. Both students have the same goal of obtaining a respected job, often in the same career field, where they are satisfied and make a good salary. Also, they both have the drive to succeed in their newfound careers as shown by their persistence in their academic endeavors.
