Wuthering Heights

There were so many incredibly, horrible "people'throughout this story, and each one of them have reasons as to why they are the worst. If there had to be only one that went way over the edge and had no way of coming back, then that would have to be Heathcliff. He was included in some way, shape, or form in every aspect of the story. He also affected everyone's lives and almost none of it was changed for the better. Heathcliff was hurt when Catherine had changed her behavior and soon wanted nothing more than to hurt all who he came in contact with. He learned how to use people, to get exactly what he wanted, at a very young age and he had no intention of letting that useful skill go. He was very distraught and disturbed, and even if this was not his fault, he obviously deserves the position as the most disliked character.
The climax of the story is believed to be when Catherine Linton died. Before she died, Heathcliff, who had to see her, visited her. She became sick in his arms, and Edgar rushed to her side as Heathcliff left. Soon after this episode, she gave birth to her daughter, who was named Catherine, and died shortly after. This section of the story was the climax because after her death things once again took a turn for the worse, and this time she was no longer there to smooth things over. Both Edgar and Heathcliff hated and blamed the other for her death. Heathcliff despised Miss Cathy, the daughter, and even his own son, Linton, whom he had had with Isabella Linton. He devised a plan that allowed him to have his revenge on the Linton family and to secure, for himself, their fortune. This plan, even though it caused pain throughout the course of it, only ended up hurting Heathcliff the most.
The ending of the story was unnervingly satisfying. There had been so much pain in this novel, but you could say that there was a happy ending for some of the characters. Hareton, Hindley's son, and Miss Catherine ended up very much together and actually happy.
