Many people come in and out of our lives in such a short period of time. Some inspire us to better ourselves, while others are forgotten just as quickly as they came in. The one person's influence that sticks out the most in my mind is that of my uncle, world renowned pianist, Dr. Milton Laufer. Through his ability to woe a crowd, his immense accomplishments, and his overall sense of self-discipline and motivation, my uncle has had a great influence on my life. .
My uncle has the incredible talent of gaining a huge crowd and keeping their attention all through out his performance. Much like me with dance, he started playing the piano at a very young age and was what one would call a child prodigy. The way in which he performs each piece is very precise and intense and that same intensity he puts forth disperses into the audience. This part of his talent particularly influences me because as a dancer, one must do the same other wise your audience will not be approve. He is critically acclaimed as ".a gifted virtuoso. tremendous charisma and personality." by the Chicago Tribune. As said by Peter Nuno of WGN TV ".his piano playing moved and dazzled us.Laufer is without equal." The feedback he gets from the public really encourages me to be persistent with dance because I believe it has the capability to take me far in life and if he can do it, so can I. He always used to tell me that if I give the crowd all I have, the return factor will be twice as great. I have taken his advice time after time whenever I would go on stage, and I finally realized how .
true it was. The audience can see when one is pushing his or her limits and returns it with a roar of applause.
Throughout his career, my uncle Milton has strived for the best and with his persistence he has deserved each and everyone one of the things he has set his eyes on. The way he aspires for excellence really has an impact on my life because he believes that no one can get you up the ladder in life, but yourself.
