It has almost been 62 years since the attack on Pearl Harbour. Since then, many have grieved, many have found hope in eventual victory, and many have attempted to create a lasting memory of the fateful attack. One such attempt was that of documentary director Richard Fleischer in 1970, detailing the events leading up to and the attack on Pearl Harbour. Named Tora! Tora! Tora!, the film was made in two separate parts - involving an American script and a Japanese script. .
Each script depicted different events surrounding the attack through each other's eyes and made an excellent attempt at producing a balanced opinion of what happened in 1941. The film was also created in two separate parts, with Japanese Directors Kinji Fukasaku & Toshio Masuda filming the Japanese script and Richard Fleischer filming the American script. In the end it was all put together and created an account which balanced participant perspective in a way unlike anything seen before in film history.
