The Tragic Fall of Oedipus

In Oedipus the King written by Sophocles, I see Oedipus" character as causing his tragic fall by the influence of his character. Oedipus is born of King Laius and Jocasta. Because the Oracle at Delphi reveals that the son of King Laius will kill him and marry his mother, the baby is sent to be abandoned. Instead he is sent to the nearby kingdom of King Polybus and Queen Merope. The other children taunt Oedipus by saying that he really is not the son of King Polybus. Perplexed by this crazy idea that he is not the son of King Polybus, Oedipus seeks the wisdom the Oracle at Delphi.
The Oracle at Dephi tells Oedipus that he will kill his father and marry his mother. Immediately Oedipus is upset by this revelation and flees for Thebes. This is where Oedipus" character influences him. Oedipus flees without finding out the whole truth about what the Oracle at Delphi tells him. Oedipus never asks why the children tell him that he is not the son of King Polybus. He never finds out the whole revelation of him killing his father and marrying his mother. He just flees in denial of what the Oracle at Delphi tells him.
Because Oedipus is a very ignorant person he is blinded by the truth. I believe that because Oedipus is so ignorant he leads himself to his own tragic fall. On his way to Thebes, he encounters a chariot and traveling in it is King Laius, Oedipus" real father. When they kindly ask Oedipus to move so they may get by, he refuses. At this point, it shows that Oedipus is very angry and this anger leads to bigger things. Because of his anger he kills King Laius, not knowing he is his father. Again this shows that because of anger, his tragic flaw, Oedipus kills his father, and from there his tragic fall begins.
