MACBETH - Underneath the Skin

Among several iconic sentences taken from Shakespeare writings that have turned into daily clichés, popular proverbs and thoughts - for instance, "to be, or not to be - - Macbeth provided very famous ones, such as "the milk of human kindness-, and "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing-, which passage is going to be transcribed later on.
Macbeth is the drama of an ambitious Scottish king, willing to literally eliminate the ones who were against him. In order to achieve his first dark goal: to become a king, Macbeth and his wife set a plot to kill King Duncan. This part of the story can be considered the boundary-line between what I have called the humanized and the demonized Macbeth. Although this edge is a bit obscure, the character's crisis is translucent to both reader and watcher. The protagonist is reluctant to materialize the filthy acts of killing and betraying the king. Thus, while he deals with this harsh doubt, a sensitive side of the character is revealed as he faces himself as a murderer and tastes the bitterness of guilty. However, his wife questions his masculinity and remarkably persuades him to complete the plan, and that is when he chooses his own disastrous path.
Lady Macbeth is an extremely determined woman, who appears to be even more ambitious than Macbeth. She frightens everyone through her deceitful manipulations and merciless strategies. Her black costumes and dark hair, contrasted with her pale skin, suggest she belongs to the diabolic crew of the story, I mean, almost all characters. In fact, despite all her ambitious desires and dreadful nature, there is no directly way for her to achieve her dreams as a woman; thus, she manipulates her husband's willingness according to her own. As it is impossible for her to play the King's part, she aims to become the Queen - the highest place a woman can enjoy. Following this sexist path, Macbeth even implies she posses a male soul, which would be the only believable explanation for such evilness in a lady - as if every women were good.
