The nurse then informed her that Brandon had been killed as well as the couple in the other car. Nicky felt the life draining out of her. In case her parents didn't make it soon enough she cried begging the nurse to tell her parents she was sorry for ever disobeying them and that she loved them very much. The nurse just looked at the girl with a blank stare. Soon after Nicky died, and another nurse asked why she hadn't said anything after Nicky gave her the message for her parents. She replied, "I didn't know what to say, the people in the other car were her parents-.
This tale revolves around one persons choices that affect four others. This character is Nicky. She is the heart of the story; she's the one to relate to, along with Brandon, but in a morehorny, drunken teenaged way. Nicky's mother and father are the authority figures, they are the ones who oppose her actions but with just cause. And the last character in this legend is her best friend, the one whom starts the whole chain of events by passing that little note in class.

The plot of this story is fairly self explanatory. The situation is a grotesque caricature of real life. It is designed to leave you shocked and horrified. Nicky sneaks out to a party, drinks, meets Brandon, they go to make out, Nicky feels pressured and wants to leave, Brandon gets mad, drives recklessly, and they crash into Nicky's worried parents killing all four of them. The legend drips with irony. In fact the irony is the only saving grace of this tale. With out it being the parents in the oncoming car, it's just another sad story of drunk driving. Irony is what makes it a legend, makes it stand out among the rest, and makes it memorable.
Two main conflicts drive the plot, the first between Nicky and her parents. First off they won't allow her to attend the party, but Nicky goes anyway against her parents wishes. The second conflict is interpersonal, when Brandon tries to go too far Nicky's morals come into play and she stops him from proceeding.
